NEW SAVAGE SHOW

“He was powerless to save her.”

NUMBERS, a New Drama by Scarlett Ridgway Savage, directed by Richard Rose, will open Nov 11 at the Dionysus Theater’s L’il Peach, 270 West 36th (at 8th Ave.), NYC.

NUMBERS is a haunting new drama based on real-life events exploring the emotional turmoil of rape through the eyes of a victim’s loving brother. Journalism student Alex tries to make sense of the jumbled memories of events that caused his life to spiral unrecognizably out of control. Through his attempts to recollect, he takes the audience on an agonizing and astonishing journey — watching his little sister survive the most heinous event a woman can face. This is a Work-in-Progress (Staged Reading) of a vital new play for imminent full Off-Broadway production!

Scarlett Ridgway Savage is a multi-award-winning playwright, author, and journalist. Her play DEAR DADDY LOVE CASSIE has raised tens of thousands of dollars for sexual assault support services around New England. Author Stephen King described her as “a gifted young writer and a talent to watch for in the future.” Author Michael Kimball writes “Scarlett Savage is such a fine writer, you might think she was genetically designed for the work. The way she disappears inside her characters and kick-starts their hearts, then sets them wandering together in all their flawed glory for better or worse – you might think she’s been doing this all her life.”.

Richard M. Rose is a director, producer, actor, designer and teacher. His credits include New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights’ Theater of New Jersey, Theater Breaking Through Barriers, Theater of Necessity, Theater for a New Audience, St. Clements, Ensemble Studio Theater, BAM, Tiny Mythic @ HERE, Xena Group, TimsLoft, Powerhouse Theatre, One Dream Theatre, and Grandfather Films. Richard is the founder and Artistic Director of Loud Acting School Productions and Shakespeare-on-the-Spot.
