Pertaining specifically to Sarah Palin’s family, Senator Obama recently while speaking to reporters, nobly condemned involving families in political campaigning and stated, “people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits.” He further added, "We don't go after people's families; we don't get them involved in the politics. It's not appropriate, and it's not relevant," he added. "If I ever thought that there was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they'd be fired."
President Bush also made a promise; a promise to “Fire” all those complicit in the leak of Valerie Plane as a CIO agent. We now know that Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and the President’s Chief of Staff Andrew Card were three of the leakers but they are all “Un-fired-ly” still out there. Poor I. Lewis Libby, the V.P. Chief of Staff and yet another one of them, was chosen to be made the stooge and took the fall with the understanding that his sentence would be commuted by the President, and it was. It would have been however, quite awkward for the President to fire himself since it has now been brought to light that he also was a party to the nefarious outing.
It will be interesting to see if Senator Obama is a man of his word or proves to be a “fire” liar such as President Bush.
