AROUND 8P.M. I CLOSED MY BUSINESS ON METROPOLITAN AVENUE, AND WENT TO MY 91 YEAR OLD MOTHERS HOME BY 74 STREET, AND JUNIPER BLVD.SOUTH. THERE I SAW A CARVEL T OR MR.SOFTY TRUCK, AND THOUGHT I WOULD TREAT MY MOTHER TO A CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM CUP.

WHEN I APPROACHED THE MAN IN THE TRUCK HE WAS INSIDE TALKING TO HIMSELF, SO I ASKED IF EVERYTHING WAS ALRIGHT. HE SAID NO. I ASKED HIM WERE YOU JUST ROBBED? HE SAID NO.

THEN I SAID WHAT IS WRONG? *THIS IS WHAT HE SAID," AFTER SELLING ICE CREAM IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD BY JUNIPER PARK FOR OVER 20 YEARS, MAKING CHILDREN OF THE COMMUNITY SO HAPPY, A TERRIBLE DISPLAY OF BEHAVIOR BY A POLICE OFFICER TICKETING HIM WITH 2 TICKETS TOTALING OVER $300 DOLLARS IN FINES FOR DOUBLE PARKING."

"HOW CAN ANYONE MAKE A LIVING TODAY, WHEN YOU ARE SINGLED OUT, AS A CRIMINAL DOING EVIL TO OTHERS". "I ALWAYS PULL ALONG SIDE A CAR BEFORE I BACK INTO A SPACE, HOWEVER THE PARENTS & KIDS RAN TO THE TRUCK, SO I SERVICED THEM FIRST."

"THATS WHEN I GOT THE TWO TICKETS."

Impossible to earn $300 dollars tonight he said, distraught, upset, and venting his displeasure over what just happened. Finally, I asked him would he please give me a cup of chocolate ice cream, and he did so shaking his head. He kept complaining until he gave me my change back.

This was a very bad scene to experience. I felt sorry for the man, and I am sure the patrolman did his job.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO A TWO WAY STREET? I HAVE PROVIDED SO MUCH TO THE OFFICERS OF THE 104, ALWAYS READY TO HELP IN ANY WAY, BUT I DO BELIEVE THIS TIME, A LITTLE WARNING WOULD HAVE BEEN THE RIGHT THING TO DO TO AVOID THIS TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

P.S. SINCE THEY RE-OPENED THE NEW PARK ON 74 STREET, I HAVE BEEN ALSO WRITING ALL THIS TIME ABOUT THOSE THAT VISIT FROM OTHER AREAS, DROPPING THEIR GARBAGE ALL OVER THE SIDEWALKS, THROWN ONTO PEOPLES PROPERTIES ON 74 STREET, LIKE DIAPERS, CANS, BOTTLES, ETC.. MAYBE THE 104 OFFICER WHO WROTE THE TWO TICKETS COULD STANDBY ON 74 STREET, SO HE COULD WRITE PLENTY OF TICKETS FOR LITTERING TOO.
