Dear Editor,

"Don't rain on my parade" sang Barbra Streisand in "Funny Girl," but Mayor

Bill de Blasio must rain on all city parades during the COVID-19 crisis.

He must cancel all public gatherings, including those celebrating the Fourth of July, Columbus Day, Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.

Parades endanger public health by making social distancing impossible. They also drain vital NYPD and Sanitation Department resources. We cannot celebrate until we can vaccinate all New Yorkers.
