It is with great pleasure as a Middle Village Advocate to write an article for this worthy businessman who has given his all to his business, organizations within the Community and to our Country for serving in VIETNAM.

Not to many good stories in the news lately so it is time to read about one. A resident of our Community since 1965. Served two years in the United States Army. Sent to VIETNAM in 1968 and was fortunate to come back alive.

Jim Turano started in 1979 in the Real Estate Business. Since then he has also joined many local organizations in Middle Village, Maspeth, and in Glendale throughout the years. Giving back to the communities he services he became President of the Middle Village Kiwannis organization, then President of the Glendale, Middle Village Lions Business organization followed by becoming the Vice Commander of the Maspeth Luke J. Lang Veterans organization. He was responsible for successful fund raisers and sending kids with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camps.

Business wise he has completed over 4,000 written appraisals to date. He testifies in New York State Supreme Court as an expert witness in appraising. Besides listing and selling homes for the past 40 years, Jim has attained and rented more offices and retail locations in Middle Village, Maspeth and Ridgewood than many other Realtors combined.

Considered a 1031 Exchange specialist helping others avoiding to pay capital gains after selling their properties for years. To further show his unique business ethics he works 7 days per week still after all these years. Earning his reputation day by day for 40 years.

I congratulate Jim Turano-Broker of DIVERSE REAL ESTATE on Metropolitan Avenue,
